Databank on tourism investment opportunities launched

IRNA -- A tourism investment opportunities databank was launched here on Wednesday in a ceremony attended by deputy head of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization for investment and projects.
Addressing the event, Mehdi Janangiri said that the databank presents a comprehensive collection of information on the country's tourist attractions for foreign and domestic investors.
Meanwhile, the information will also be presented during the Second International Seminar on Iran's Investment Opportunities slated for November 8-9, he noted.
Some 500 foreign and Iranian investors will take part in the event, he said.
According to Jahangiri, in addition to introducing tourism investment opportunities, the databank will also feature the achievements of the first round of the event as well as agreements signed with foreign and local groups.
Stating that more than 700 tourism sites have so far been approved by the Cabinet, Jahangiri said that all information on the sites, facilities, infrastructure, geographical locations and potentials are provided by the databank.
The databank also contains information on tourist attractions, projects being implemented and advisors of the projects.
The official in charge of the databank's technical affairs, Ramin Edraki said that the bank with the following address www.cito.ir presents information under ten categories including exemplary tourist sites, hotels, welfare facilities as well as implementation of related projects.
