Kish, German MRK Ink MoU
FNA -- Davoud Madadi, Managing Director of the Kish Free Zone Organization, and Peter Hartman, MRK's executive director, signed the agreement on Friday.
Based on the agreement MRK will invest at least 500 million euros in various Kish infrastructure projects and an additional 50 million euros to develop the basic needs of Hindurabi Island in the Persian Gulf, Madadi told the Islamic republic news agency at the signing ceremony.
Over the next 15 days the German company will present its proposal on the construction of terminals at Kish airport, port facilities, water and electricity networks and other infrastructure projects, he added.
Madadi said Kish authorities continue to try to make the island a center of tourism and to attract investment from other parts of the world.
Hartman, for his part, said infrastructure capital is a requirement for tourism and added that his visit to Iran and Kish Island have been fruitful.
Hartman also expressed optimism over future investment in Iran, adding that his firm's business deals have no relationship with politics and that MRK considers cooperation with the Islamic Republic a business opportunity.
