Therapeutic springs and hot and cold spas have transformed Ardebil into the hub of water therapy and health tourism of Iran.
Stating the above, Yahya Taqizadeh, the deputy head of Ardebil+s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Department, said there are about 60 hot spas and therapeutic springs in the province, IRNA reported.
“Sarein, Sardabeh, Meshkinshahr and Nayyer are among provincial spots for health tourism,“ he added.
He noted that every year about five million domestic and foreign tourists travel to Ardebil because of its favorable climatic conditions.
“Some 37 exemplary tourism sites in the province have been approved by the Cabinet. So far, six regions have been ceded to the private sector for investments,“ he said.
Emphasizing that Fandoqlou Forest is one of the exemplary tourism sites of the province, the official said it has suitable potentials for appealing to tourists. He mentioned the numerous hazelnut trees, the project for building a telecabin, a tourism village and accommodation centers in this regard.
The official also said the therapeutic waters of Sabalan, Sheikh Safieddin Mausoleum, Aras River, Kalour Garden, Neor and Sabalan natural lakes, Khalkhal+s Andbil Forest and Shurabil Lake, as well as historical castles, caravansaries and bazaars are among tourist attractions of the province.
