At present there are a lot of choices for tourists to visit Ha Long bay but Oriental Sails are worth to be the first choice. The there most common tours are tours in 1 day, 2 days and 3 days. Almost the tours to Ha Long are similar and tourists hardly find the differences if they do not have experience in this. To serve tourists in the most professional way, Orient Sails serve 2 day tour and 3 day tour to Ha Long Bay and make the differences to attract tourists by the special itinerary. Beside the common kayaking tour we also supply the special 3 day rock climbing tour. This tour is really a new choice for tourists to enjoy the beauty of Ha Long, conquer nature and challenge themselves.
21 Luong Ngoc Quyen Str., Hoan Kiem Dist, Hanoi, Vietnam
Tel: 84-4-39264009 - Fax: 84-4-39264010
Email: info@orientalsails.com
Website: orientalsails.com
Good Evening.

I am travelling to Bangkok in July with Mahan Air and the flight stops at Imam Khomeini
Airport, Tehran, en-route.

Will I require a visa of some sort, even though I am just a transit passenger?

I will be in transit for two hours on the outbound journey and four hours on the return journey.

I have received conflicting information on this and am just looking for a definitive answer.

On the face of it, I don't think there should be any need for a visa but I would rather be safe than sorry and have problems at the airport, upon my arrival.

Thanks
Hi!

We are going to be visiting Iran in April. In order to get visa I need a reservation confirmation from hotel. Since we'll be arriving to Tehran and taking to train to Kerman on the same day, the first night in Iran will be spent on train. The second in Kerman. I have contacted Akhavan Hotel via email twice, but so far no feedback from them. Can anybody suggest another hotel in Kerman in the same price range with whom it is possible to do reservations via email? Thanks a lot!

Greetings to Iran from Estonia :)

Iranian passport or Visa? Iranian American, born in the USA to Persian father

Iranian passport or Visa? Iranian American, born in the USA to Persian father American son of a Persian father, hoping to travel to Iran in May 2010 in forum Iran Travel Tips, Advice and Information.
Hello,

My name is Camron and I am a 36 year old American, and I would like to travel to Iran in May 2010. I have a Persian father and European mother, and have not been to Iran since about 1976, when I was a young child and before the revolution. I am trying to get either a new Iranian passport or a visa to travel there in May.

I have my father's documents, including his passport from after the revolution. I also have my mother's passport which also has me on it, though that is from before the revolution.

Do you know if it is possible to get the necessary documents in time to travel there next May? I have tried calling the Iranian Interests Section http://www.daftar.org but that has not been much help. I need someone that can help me with this. Please let me know if you know anyone or if you have any advice.

Many thanks,
Camron Assadi

long hair?

long hair? in forum Iran Travel Tips, Advice and Information.
These may have been answered before somewhere, but...please, please could someone help me out with this questions...

I am a white european guy who has long hair, is long hair on men a problem in Iran culturally, or are there laws involved with it, is it simple yes/no, a certain length, a question of style? I can find out nothing specific, only the odd news report, which is no way to find out real information, so I thought this was a good place to ask and get a straight answer on this. I would not like to arrive in iran and then get bad looks or offend anyone just because of my hair, I'd rather know ahead of time, and maybe have a trim if it is the only way!

Also, what is the situation with music? I play guitar, so it would be normal for me to get work maybe playing in small places, earn a little extra money. Is this allowed in public, certain instruments only, are licenses very important? How would this kind of thing be percieved, does it happen a lot, only in cities perhaps?
One of the reasons I am interested in the country is for the music, learning the oud etc, so the question of whether a westerner is allowed to perform or play music is interesting to me.

many thanks :)
I want to travel with my husband and kids to Esfahan to visit both my family and my husband's family. Our children will be 6 and 8 years old. We would like to know if there are any kid programs available- maybe even Farsi lessons for them to improve their Farsi. I know the idea of a summer type camp may sound far-fetched- but I would like to have some sort of program for them. THis will be for the summer.

THanks

going to Iran for two weeks... thinking of SCUBA diving

going to Iran for two weeks... thinking of SCUBA diving need advice in forum Iran Travel Tips, Advice and Information.
Hi

I'm a Canadian Iranian who is thinking of going back to Iran for a couple of weeks. I've been back a few times but I've never dived there. I'm wondering if it worth taking a few days out of seeing family and stuffing myself with food to go for a dive. The quality of the diving and safety are my two biggest concerns. I've dived Belize, Australia, and the Dominican Republic so that is what I would compare it too.

In addition if there are any divers out there who would like to join me that would be great since i don't like doing solo dives.

Thanks. :D

Mohammad

Providing the much needed moral boost

Providing the much needed moral boost in forum Reviews for hotels, travel agents....
Since travel and tourism has now got the status of an industry, major changes are seen in the economy of the states with abundant natural resources. Even then, the economic impacts are complex and notoriously difficult to isolate and measure, but we can be confident that there are significant spatial variations according to:
•	The geographical scale of development; i.e., international, national, regional or local
•	The initial volume of tourist expenditures, which will primarily be shaped by the number of visitors and their market segments. For example, the effects differ between low-cost and luxury travel, tourists visiting a destination as a mass or as independent travelers
•	The size and maturity of the economy, which will affect the ability to supply tourist requirements from within the economy, rather than relying upon imports or foreign sources of investment
•	The levels of ‘leakage’ from the economy

Most developing economies have tried to maximize the revenues from tourism while simultaneously reducing the inputs and other expenses. For example, leakage represents the proportion of revenue which is lost due to the need to import goods and services to sustain the tourism enterprise or through the payment of profits and dividends to offshore owners or investors. In general, the larger and more developed an economy is, the lower will be the levels of leakage and vice versa.

Iran Taxi of Niyavaran Excellent Experience We traveled to the most remote areas of Iran with the Infromed driver of Iran Taxi. in forum Reviews for hotels, travel agents....
I visited Iran this spring for business. A friend in Italy gave me the information about Iran Taxi of Niavaran. I used them. They transformed my business trip into a most fantastic short vacation for me. They took me to the most remote lovely sites of Iran.

The driver was polite, informed, ponctual, and accomodating. The rates were very reasonable. I suggest everyone who goes to Iran to call these guys and take the headache of transportation off your shoulders. Their Website is:

www.TaxiIran.com

Their phone number in Tehran is:

2270-8145
