I have stayed in many hotels around the world but never thought that a 5 star hotel can have such poor quality. Rooms the carpets are dirty full of stains,toilets are old with taps not working, corridors dark and old furniture.
The main reception lobby is only open untill about 12:00 PM cannot entertain friends after that time.
Restaurant of very poor quality including breakfast.
and one has to pay in US dollares not local money.
Really dont recomend this hotel.

Esteghlal Grand Hotel: "Nice hotel with a friendly staff!"

I went to Iran after 16 years. I was born in Tehran but grew up in Europe. The hotel was nice but at the same time looked old. The rooms and bathrooms were very big. They have 2 towers...West & East Tower. The East tower is the new one they built. That one is very nice and new but those rooms belongs to the goverment people and also "foreiners".
The staff were VERY friendly and that is important in Tehran.
They have a Piano coffee bar that's open until 3 am!!!Very nice.
I would go back there again. I submit a few pictures that I took in the hotel.

Tehran: Esteghlal Grand Hotel: "Persian Calture"

When I heared that I have to travel to tehran I was shocked, but after staying in iran(esteghlal hotel) I found out that we(the westerns) knew nothing about iran.
They are just hospitable and I mean hospitable . They are very proud of their country and very talented.
Staying in Esteghlal hotel with the sound of eastern music just change my mind about Iran and the persians.

You can visit topic about Gasht Tour. And write them mail. It is so easy.
Also, reserve hotels from agency always is more cheper than reserve a room directly from a hotel.
