Married to Iranian and visa
hello everyone

I have few important questions about visa to Iran.

Im Polish and married to Iranian in traditional english way smile;) ( we live in uk). We have son who has only polish nationality and passport.

We are planing visit Iran in March 2010 and here start all troubles. I got informations/ rumours that my son whom father is Iranian need iranian certificate of birth to get visa?? . The same questions about me. I heard i should change religion to get more easy visa. In my opinion is ridiculous but can be true.

Unfortunately I cant find answers on iranian embassy website and is difficult to call them.
I will be appreciate for all your help.

Well, i do not think so is hard as you say , but in Islam marry an Non muslem girl is not forbidden to marry a Muslem guy , but any way they are simple legel problems in Iran . I am married with a French man , he did not conver to Islam but we have kid, i go to Iran with out any problem and i told them we did get marry in Mosque and religion way and they did not ask a lot about it. i go with my daughter an d my husband every year to Iran and this is not hard for me.
I am an Iranian who wants to get marry a German, How should we get marry official in Iran that we do not get trouble later , he is Christian but he doe s not have problem to convert to Islam, please help if you know?..
Again about the travel to Iran, I'm Chrstian and have plan to convert to Islam, but my husband is Muslim, we want to go to Iran, does anybody know whether you have to get married in the Iraninan ambasy or any mosque will do, may there is a special Iranian mosque we have to get married in. You never know with this governemnt, but I was thinking that maybe you are aware of any iranian mosque or imam that would issue a marriage crtificate without me having to say the prayer or the words that i convert, cheers
hiya, iam a filipina christian and my bf is iranian muslim. we have been together for 4 yrs and now wants to settle down. i want to introduce him to my family before getting married... i havent met his family during these times but trust him. they dont approve of me at first and had broken up a cpuple of times but in the end we still come back together....crazy as it may seem but i trust him and i know he loves me & i love him a lot too...

Now my question is we are planning to visit my family but for some unfortunate reason his family ask him not to go but to delay it and wait because of a relative crisis someone is in the hospital & not an immediate family but a cousin...a lot of people especially my family is really looking forward to meeting him...and if i wait and delay again it means i will have to disappoint them again after the failed plan previously...now he wants to come even if they still dont approve coz the past years we have been together when this happens I understand and wait always now he wants to do his promise even if his family doesnt approve...now if he comes with me without approval from his parents what is the possibility of him being kickout of the house? are iranian parents able to really disown their own children? and not care for them if they did something against their will like run away to meet my family?

pls i need advise as im not familiar with the iranian culture....in my country if its my parents at first they will get * when i come back and say a lot of things but then they will forgive me and accept that what we did is what we wanted to do...i dont want to have any ill feeling with my future in-laws but we cannot keep on waiting whenever something comes up right? am i being selfish? just for ones i want us to do something we want to do.. is that sooo bad?
YOu need not towrry as the embassy of Iran is through careful but at the same time very much humble and attentive. GO to the embassy directly and tell them the situation. They would hopefully provide you with a better answer.
Keep smiling, Allah hafiz

Hello,

Ask your spouse to go this Farsi web site: http://iran-embassy.org.uk/
Then he should choose the below option to find the related information to you. I am assuming you know the conversion to Islam rule for marriage.

hi there,
I'm a French citizen an a fervent Christian and I'm married to an Muslim Iranian. in order to get an Iranian passport I need to be married in a Muslim way but for me it will be a transgression of my faith if I do that.
So the question is, is there any other way for me to obtain an Iranian passport. Please if you know tell me. Thanks

hi, majority of iranians are not religeous people, and will not force you to practice islam. if you have to change your religeon for the sake of few paper work, then do and then carry on practicing whatever you want. religon is a very personal thing. my husband converted to islam for one week and when we obtained our paperwork then that was it. he goes to church every sunday and so are my kids.
ps you do not need to tell this to everyone in iran though.

Hi there, regarding foreigner name in iranian passport , its totally allow.

I am speaking of personal experience here, I am a Chinese lady and obtain my iranian passport through marriage to my iranian husband. The passport office in Tehran has put my Chinese Name (obviously in Iranian wrtiiting) in my Iranian passport without even a blink . Other than that , I have a Iranian friend and her name is Mona, I was suprised to hear that an iranian girl from Iran has a "foreigner "name but she said its quite cool and there is no trouble at all.

As for the boy friend has different name on the british passport, I know of many iranian when they apply for asylum in UK , they tends to change their name due to immigration resaon, perhaps that is why he has 2 different name.

P.S. i was living in UK long time so I kind of understand how they should i say "play " the system.

Hi!

I have a question?do you have still your Chinese passport or not and how are you traveling between Iran and China?

Cos Iran will not accept multi nationality.
Hi Guest

I am an Iranian living in UK since 1976. Few things to put your mind at rest
1 - Iranian born people usually have their names based on either historical and old Persian names (Mandana, Roxana, Dariush, Korush, Shapour, Satra, Artemis, Rose, Jasmin etc) or Islamic name (Ali, Hasan, Zara, Yosef, Jacobetc), Christian or Wetern names (George, Jon, David, Most Armenians and Jews in Iran have their own cultrla names).
2 - Do not forget that many of Western names have their roots in Biblical characters, this is also true in Iran having been host to Jewish and Christian communities since the inception of those faiths. So hearing names like Yosef (Josef) Yahya (John), Sara (Sarah), Johan (John) etc is not stranege.
3 - If you are a moslem and want a Western sounding names its easy to call yoursef any of the biblical names.
4 - Iran accepts dual nationality so you can maintain your national passport and also get an iranian passport provided yo swear alegiance to Iranian constitution and if marrying a Moslem, become a moslem.
5 - Becoming a moslem for a woman is easy just Alla-ho-Akbar, Ashado-aan-la-elah-e-ella-allah, Ashado-aana-mohhamdan-rasul-allah, Ashado-aana-ali-aan-valy-o-allah) As a matter of fact by the time you finish reading this you already have become a moslem.
5 - Your boyfried is lying about having to have an western name. I lived in UK for so long and have British and Iranian passport and still call myself the names that was given to me by my parents. Majid.
Have fun.

I have a question!
Does anyone know if I can enter Iran as a single girl? Or there must be a male with me?
I am 22 and a student, I am from Hungary, so being an EU citizen smile:)
I have Iranian friends in Shiraz, actually a whole family, they would host me.
I would like to spend approximately 3 weeks in Iran, is there any regulation for the period I could spend there? I couldn't find any proper and official information on these.
