Married to Iranian and visa
hello everyone

I have few important questions about visa to Iran.

Im Polish and married to Iranian in traditional english way smile;) ( we live in uk). We have son who has only polish nationality and passport.

We are planing visit Iran in March 2010 and here start all troubles. I got informations/ rumours that my son whom father is Iranian need iranian certificate of birth to get visa?? . The same questions about me. I heard i should change religion to get more easy visa. In my opinion is ridiculous but can be true.

Unfortunately I cant find answers on iranian embassy website and is difficult to call them.
I will be appreciate for all your help.
Of course my friend... As u got married with somebody from ISLAMIC republic of iran, she should have mentioned you at first that you must change, convert to islam unless you have no other way to get any official document for you , her, and your kids,. Or, you can go there with ur kid with no mother name on any document as a turist and pray to nobody realize ur wife is iranian .. If, it happens u will go to jail and neither good or alah can help u there ... Anyway have u learn farsi to go there ?????

Hello Guest,

You have not mentioned your nationality. But from your information, we understand that you are from Muslim religion and married to Iranian women (also being Muslim). So there will not be any issues for you to visit and get out of Iran 'n' number of times.

But what my friend from Polish decentant may have meant is his religion (I assume may be Christian or Jew) and his wife's religion (Muslim from Iran) are different and they are married in english traditional way & living together in UK.

Few things here to be noted is that which passport are they holding, ex: Polish, Iranian etc. Is the name in the passport of his iranian wife changed adding his name to her last name. Name of spouse /her father's name is mentioned in her passport?

I dont know whether I am correct or not, respect the law of that country and do accordingly. Check directly with the Iranian embassy in UK, what formalities you need to complete. Iranians are warm and welcoming...so I hope that you will get your queries cleared (Aleksandra Konwa).

Regards,
Mani.
hi i am a british woman married to an iranian for 9 yrs we have a 7 yr old boy, we are planning on going to iran soon but have had lots of hassle we were married in scottish law then had to marry in muslim law then went to the iranian embassy to apply for visa and were told we had to marry again smile:o in an iranian mosque as the other mosque was the wrong one eventually after months and lots of money we all now have iranian birth certificates and passports smile:D and also i had to change to muslim faith smile;) so i have a certificate for that too and if u go without being married in their eyes and are in bed with your husband u can get jailed believe me. my new problem is that i have a daughter from a previous relationship and do not know if she needs a visa as she is british? but no doubt to sort that will be lots more problems, if u have any suggestions please help smile:(
All these threads remind me of the movie "Not Without My Daughter". The civil rights violations in Iran are unbelievable. And the intolerance is sickening. From what I can tell Iran is a beautiful country with a rich wonderful history in many regards. Too bad such an extreme religious dictatorial theocratic regime is in place at this moment. May the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Moses, and God's only begotten Son, Christ Jesus, have mercy on us all and especially on this part of the world.

OMG.................the almost exact same problems I have faced 2 years ago when we try to get an Iranian Visa. I and my Iranian Husband were not married at the time, so we were told to get married the Islamic way and have to be married in the Iranian Mosque and obtain the Islamic marriage cert and the cert to prove than I am Muslim before they will even consider to issue me the visa.
I also have a daughter from a previous relationship; the staffs from the embassy insist that my daughter's biological father has to give consent to allow my daughter to visit Iran. As we have no contact with him for like 10 years, it was proven difficult. Anyhow, We pushed ahead with the visa without her "father's consent" after 3 months of begging and humiliation, they have finally agree to give her the visa. Their last word to my husband was “I don’t know why you want to take that kid with you!”
In general Iran was friendly but the one that we encountered in the embassy was just unbelievable…..
Anyway, I hope they won’t be too hard on you. Good Luck!
im brittish my partner he is iranian we have a baby but not yet married! i would like to visit iran with my baby will we both be ok with visitors visa? and go with our brittish passports???
Salam-o-alikum
