US tourists in Iran?

Has anyone seen any tourists from the US in Iran recently? I'm guessing not many. But I am a US citizen and was able to get a tourist visa. I'll be in Iran in early December.

Wow you could get a visa!!! Congratulations. I'm a US citizen too but they denied my request several times!!!
The funniest part is that I'm a convert to Islam- Shiism and tried to apply pilgrim visa. Maybe i should try Tourist visa too. I really wish to visit Iran once, How can I get to Iran?!!!! |

MIchael, I think you should try again. Definitely you are not alone, as a lot of Brits and Canadians got denied, but then they re-apply until someone says Yes. It took me 11 weeks to get the visa code. I think it is just luck. Your luck must turn up soon. I used letsgoiran.com.

I have asthma and worry about the air pollution in Teheran. Is there a time of year when the air is clean or at least, less polluted?

Judy, I read somewhere that Tehran air is worse in summer because of the extreme heat. But you can come to Iran and spend your time outside Tehran. I think most tourists do that anyways. |

Judy I'm an Iranian who lives in downtown Tehran, i have asthma too. The air pollusion is not as bad as you suppose. Dont worry. |

Nowadays you can see many American Tourists in Iran, who come here to enjoy the holidays.....Now the situation in Iran is totally changed an every thing is in control of the government....there is no need to worry about terrorists attacks... Who really knows. ? If they were tourists they were extremely stupid. If they were in fact spies then they should all go back to school and learn how to be better ones. Either way perhaps they have at least learned one lesson . Next time take a simple GPS with them . That way at least they will know where they are.
