Salaam!
I was in Iran this year and... can't stop thinking about this place! I'm fascinated and want to go there again. My idea is to stay for few months learning Farsi, making friends and getting to know Iran better. Preferably in Esfahan or Shiraz, as these cities looked most attractive for me. So far I found information about courses at Esfahan University, but none replied to my email. Do you know where to look for such courses for reasonable price? TIA, Michal |

please take a look at this link http://iso.ut.ac.ir/admission%20information/persian%20studies%20200 International Center for Persian Studies, i taught there for a few months, but unfortunetly its in Tehran ... Maybe you can contact them and ask how you can take courses in Esfahan? |

Hi dear Michal,
First i should say im very happy you enjoyed being here and chose to learn Farsi. I recommend you Iran Language Institute.Its the most famouse institute and the oldest one as far as i know.If you want i can go to the institute and ask more detailes for you.and fortuanately i should inform you that a seminar will be held this december in Tehran by this institute with this subject -Seminar on teaching Persian to the speakers of other languages - if you want i can give their phone number and exact further information about it.By the way you can count on me too

I am interested in attending the ICPS in Tehran next fall. But I as an American I am wondering if it would be too dangerous with the protests from the disputed election. Is there more antiamerican sentiment than ususal? Would the authorities even issue me a visa?

I love Iran and Iranian people. I have been twice once on a tour trip and the second time with an Iranian friend with her family. I would love to find a good Farsi teacher here in the French-speaking part of Switzerland but it is difficult. It is not taught at our universities here.

Hey there!
I also want to go to Iran to do a persian language course for 1-2 months. After knowing some persian I`d like to travel around, as to make use of what I learnd and get to know Iran. Several people here seem as if they want to do the same thing. So can anyone recommend language courses or schools that have courses over Mai/June/July this summer. Does one have to go to Theran or are other cities also recommendable. Maybe smaller cities are not that cosmopolitian and are therefore even more interesting for a foreigner. I'm a 24 year old geology student living in Switzerland and I'm open for everything. Thanks for your suggestions All the best Paul |

What would you like to learn Persian language? as a Iranian I`m very happy that you are in interesting to learn Persian. I think it`s very short time to learn it in 2 month. everywhere in Iran are interesting but i recommend you to visit Isfahan, Shiraz< Yazd and Specially Tehran. Take care

Hello,
I'm from Kazakhstan. And I learn Farsi basics in Iranian cultural center in Almaty(my city). Could anybody recommend me good short term programs for studying farsi in Iran in English or Russian. A former classmate of mine has found some program, with exchange to help iranian girl to improve her russian but she left very soon without any contacts given. I could do same, as I speak Russian as native. I would also like to know if there is any certification program for those studying Farsi as foreign language, sort of like TOEFL for English?
