Jobs in Tehran, Getting a job in Tehran
Does anybody know how an American can get a job in Tehran? I am a teacher with a Masters degree. Are there jobs teaching English?
Of course you can find a job here specially at language training institutes. As a native English speaker you have job opportunities in these fields: Public Relations, International Sales and Marketing, Tourism, Content providing, Training, Consulting...

Dear Irpedia Travel,
Thank you so much for the information about getting a job in Iran! I will apply through IranTalent and AgahJobs.
Dear Emad Honarparvar,
My degree is in Social Science. I have taught history, geography, and Algebra. I am not an engineer, although I have taken engineering courses. Should I take a job in sales?
The reason that I am looking for a job in Iran is because I am fascinated with Iranian culture, history, and people. Everyone I have met from Iran is interesting. I love the food! However, I do not know Farsi. I need to learn to read, write, and speak Farsi. There are excellent universities in Tehran. So, I thought I could teach English somewhere in Tehran and someone could teach me Farsi. I understand it takes two years to learn a new language. There is a great deal of communication I am missing by not being able to speak the language. Do you think I could earn enough money in Tehran to be able to afford to live there?

Sincerely,

Tim Jones
Dear Emad,
I applied for employment with IranTalent and AgahJobs. However, I have not received any replies. Do you have more suggestions on how I can obtain a job in Tehran? I would like to learn Farsi. Are there language schools in the city?

Sincerely,

Tim
i think you better work in your land ad then full of money go there and start to learn language.....then you start to meet people and blabla....coming more chances
is cheap enough to live there....i dont now why peoples are despereted to work for some litle money........work in west 6 month and be there one year...best deal
Hi again,
Tim, I agree with some parts of our guest's suggestion. but it isn't this way always (as he described)
sometimes people like the challenge to live and earn in a different place. sometimes people find their own made chances in a different place. Lakshemi Mittal, and Nasser Khalili are the richest guys in Britain which Mittal is indian and Khalili is Iranian.
by the way, don't forget the other side: finding a work in Iran may be difficult since you are not here.

about learning Persian, I think you can learn it with a private teacher in Iran or even in US.

regards,
Emad
Dear Emad,

I am a Chilean physics student, about to finish my degree, and it is my dream to end up in Iran helping its current scientific development as I share the idea that scientific progress is nowadays a way of achieving independence.

However my field is closer to nuclear and plasma physics: do you think it might be too difficult to find something in Iran given the current inside pressures of possible infiltrations in their nuclear programme? I contacted the Isfahan University of Technology, but they told me they only accepted national graduate students.

Many thanks for any sort of appreciation you might have.

Regards from Chile,
Germán
Hi German,

sorry but I don't know a lot about how Iranian universities accept foreigners. but I had many foreigner classmates in Tehran University.

about working in Physics field I have also poor information!! smile:( sorry!

hope to find something online

Emad
