In a couple of months, a group of travelers will travel for 9 days in Iran. We will do this by car and motorcycle. I've heard however, that one is not allowed to travel by motorcycle through Iran on highways. Is this also true for foreigners? Can we drive with motorcycles (650 cc - 1100 cc motorcycles) on highways in Iran?

I don't have an answer to your question Joost, I'm sorry, but I do have another question concerning the same topic, which I feel is best posted here: we too want to travel to Iran, with 2 motorcycles in june, and I have just read an article in last month's belgian magazine "motoren en toerisme" about 2 girls travelling by motorbike through Iran, and they had huge problems getting any fuel! Appearantly one needs a special card to get fuel, for the locals to a maximum of 100 litres a month, for tourists there is just nothing organized.. I don't know how recent or accurate this information is, does anybody know anything? Thanks..

No restrictions for foreigner for any kind of motorcycle.

And you can buy petrol wherever you want. (But problems could be occured for two girls alone)

Before, I went to iran by car but In this year, I am planning a tour by my motorcycle as well.

You can buy petrol anywhere and drive motorcycle on highways.

In Iran driving motorcycles is an activity for men. Of course this is not a force for women to not drive motorcycles but it is strange for 99.99% of Iranian people to see a girl driving motorcycle.

Hi, Is it necessary to get special licesence to drive high cc bikes or there is any type of rules and regulations for it ?How much maximum rental can be paid to fulfil this passion ?
