I am a 22 years old Chilean university student who visited Iran after an academic exchange in the university of Manchester in the UK.
I invite all sincere people to check a video I made after having visited Iran for myself. I went there especially to check for myself what was true in what the media was showing us and my conclusion is: never trust the media or the people with prejudices, just trust the people who have visited Iran. Watch the video at, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vA4I6tc6xJY Iran is simply the most wonderful country Ive been to (and Ive been to a lot!), from its incredibly rich history, its amazing people, all the wonderful forms of art, the beautiful ways of the religious life (even though Im Catholic) which makes it such a safe land to be wondering around, and how organic its society is, which thankfully is supported by the current government. Regards from Chile, German |

I hope we get to Iran together one day and that it is still indeed Iran. Now I get it why you say "all I remember" hehe.
I still havent posted photos in your site because Im currently undergoing a massive moving of my thousands of photos from Flickr to Picasa since Flickr is a Yahoo company and Yahoo doesnt consider Iran to be a country anymore. |

People,
Enough with posting messages on the IRAN IS TOO DANGEROUS! topic! It harms tourism in Iran that you keep placing it on top of the forum! If you want to defend Iran post your reply in this thread, and make reference to the comment youre replying to. Please have some conscience people! |

To the visitors, should respect one's country's culture, religion, their practice etc.etc. (for ex. people from western countries sometimes hate to wear chador). Give and take respect where ever one go, then no one will end up in any trouble I am sure about that. Khosh amadid to those who visit to this country and have a great please during their tour. ensha allah, khoda hafez, mani. |

Thanks for your beautiful words Mani! Indeed: global understanding and dialogue are not achieved by imposing our own culture and way of doing things in other places to other people, but in letting others be proud of their traditions while we respect them and learn to admire that which is different to our own perspectives, so we evolve as persons who not only accept differences, but love them. |

Oops! Sorry German!
I was curious about the "Iran is Too Dangerous" topic and then could not contain myself when I read that first message by that xenophobe. I just had to pipe in with my 2 cents. I hope this makes up for it so that your topic will be on the top of the list. As everyone knows: I AM GOING TO IRAN ON MY VACATION IN MAY 2008 |

Hi German,
Yes, Maryam has responded. She's going to investigate certain things for me (like if it is possible to have a government approved personal tour guide so I can see everything I want to see in the time I have in Iran). Its really cool to know someone in a country you are planning on going to. Thanks for helping me get in contact with her. |

Hi Pelaia,
don't be scared! you'll be definitely safe. regretfully I am not in Iran in that period, otherwise I would ask you to join my family. by the way, since you are in public places like malls, streets, parks etc and you wear the complete Hijab (covering your head with a scarf) which is pleasure in Tehran's cold winter, you wont have a problem. if you wanted more information, tell me which hotel are you going to stay so I can tell you specifically where to visit nearby. regards, Emad if you are interested in Persian Handicrafts please visit my site! |

Dear Pelagia,
My Middle East Lonely Planet guide says that among all those destinations Iran is by far the most comfortable one for women, and having visited myself -although as a man- I think they are pretty right. The more you respect their culture, and the less you make fun of it, I guarantee you that it will pay off as you will be far more respected which will give you a better experience. I visited Iran one year ago also on February, so if you want any advice on the weather and the kind of Iran that you can find in that season just let me know. Kind regards, Germán |

Yes, foreign visitors have a big and important responsability when visiting Iran, and I wish they would all remember that no one has the right to impose personal perspectives on other nations, and that we should all learn to love our differences.

Hi,
I still don't have any idea why Mr.US President is visiting the Middleeast?. Is he going to claim Peace(fake) talks? I have noticed one thing that either Condolezza Rice or any other high level personals are visiting Middleeast in the name of peace talks its ends up with only one thing - thats curbing Iran. They are only trying to pressurise their allies to be against Iran. I feel that Iran is the only country which is very "BOLD" enough on their stands and I am proud of it. That is the reason the country is steadily progressing and developing which makes others jealous about this achievement (for ex. political stability, achievements in the field of science and technology, and much more). I am very much impressed that all this has happend without any support from US(may thats the reason they dont like Iran). If any one see those who keeps allies with US have always one or the other internal problems and political instability (for ex. Pakistan for the time being - US supported them with nuclear power and all eventhough they have knowledge of terrorism in that region, thats one point and at the same time they claim that they are safe there). My god why this disparity? and they spreading that Iran should not develop nuclear power where they couldnt find a single piece of terror other than they false claims with manipulated intelligence report. I think that its US who is spreading the "Terror War" rather that "War on Terror". regds, Mani. Note: latest news:- US president urges middle eastern country to sideline and impose more sanctions on Iran also the requested by French President too.... |

Yes Mani. Nicholas Sarkozy is also there. Actually, back to where he belongs, as the French Le Figaro documented Sarkozy's spionage activities for the Mossad during the 80s, which awarded him the presidency of a European country thanks to him as well being an anti Muslim.
The only conclusion is that them still spreading all this hostility and pathetic accusations after all the reports which blew back at Bush's administration -after he himself handpicked them so they would report what he wanted them to report-, it all means Iran is going to be attacked this year. No coincidence that the two main invaders -the US and France- are beating the war drums in the Middle East as we speak, as part of the last preparations to at least contain a bit the Iranian power of retaliation through the sacrifice of their martyrs all through the Middle East. I think Iran will be hit, and very badly, but already in 1980 they stopped Saddam's tanks and firepower -proudly donated by the Western world- without even AK-47s, but with their own blood. Now that they wont be facing their own brothers in Islam anymore, but actually the foe that can only inspire them the most, the world will get to see what a Holy war really is. |
